This is one of the gymnastic equipment that can create variety of patterns in an easy way. The ribbon is normally made of material that is of satin or something similar of any type of color. It can also be of any design and can also be multi colored. Ribbons are normally of a minimum of 6m in length and at least 35g in width. It can be 5m in length for gymnastics for kids. It is always in one piece. A maximum length of 1m is the end that is attached to a stick. It is important to note that the extremity can end in a strap or there could be an eyelet that can permit for the attachment of the ribbon.

Gymnasts are now using some very unusual ways to manipulate the rhythmic gymnastics ribbon so as to give much more variety and excitements. Such ways include holding the end, having it folded, stepping on it and a lot of other things. Note that these ideas are expected to be built in sequences and performed with style.
